Designing for Portable, Comfortable Tea Moments
My goal is to create a smooth and pleasant tea-drinking journey—from the kitchen, through commuting, to the desk.

Food and Movement

I focus on the moment of carrying tea during time spent outside the home. This includes two main situations: commuting and working or studying away from home for a long time. The full experience starts from preparing tea at home, carrying an insulated tea cup, and drinking tea after arriving at the office. It also includes the challenges of carrying, pouring, and enjoying the tea.
User Profile

Moodboard
I wanted to incorporate some natural elements into the design, so I searched for images that evoke a feeling similar to drinking tea.

Synthesis

-
Tea drinkers like to enjoy tea throughout the day, even when they’re out.
-
At home, they have full tea sets, but carrying tea outside is difficult.
-
Users want a cup that keeps tea warm, tastes good, and is easy to carry and use in daily life.
Problem Statement

Common cups often lack insulation, allow tea to overbrew and affect taste, are too heavy to carry around, and are inconvenient to clean. So, transporting tea leaves when going out becomes a major challenge.
Design Opportunities

Portability
-
Design a tea cup that is easy to carry and suitable for drinking tea on the go.
Insulation & Flavor Preservation
-
Ensure good thermal insulation to keep the tea warm and prevent flavor deterioration from overbrewing.
Ease of Cleaning
-
Use materials or structures that are easy to clean and help prevent tea stains from building up.
User Experience & Aesthetics
-
Focus on comfort and ease of use, while also creating a visually appealing design that enhances emotional connection with the product.
